NO FISHING LICENSE IS REQUIRED to fish on our pier. We DO offer Senior Citizens' Discounts. Our oceanfront restaurant open for breakfast, lunch & dinner for take out if you want to grab a bite to eat while fishing on the pier. Bait, lures, rods & reels are all available for purchase inside of the Pier House. In the pier house you will find a stocked tackle shop with all your fishing need. Located in South Nags Head, it is the fishing pier nearest to Oregon Inlet with 600 feet of fishing that can land you anything from a sea mullet to a cobia. Our seating is open air with a small amount of tables under a roof only closed in by clear curtains on foul weather days. Maybe next time.because I will definitely be back.Rustic waterfront pub at a fishing pier with a large deck for seafood eats, draft beer & live music. Our rental was located a few miles away in Kill Devil Hills, so we did not have a chance to enjoy their happy hour or live music in the evenings. Service was a good as I could expect a beach bar to be, besides, why be in a hurry - you're at the beach on a beautiful sunny day! The waitress said they keep rotating taps as well. The bar had about 20 taps which included the standard fare of PBR, Shocktop, Redhook Long Hammer IPA, etc, but there was a good selection of NC craft beer from Mother Earth, Natty Green, Oskar Blues, and Full Moon (brewed in nearby Manteo). Conch fritters were as delicious as I ever had in the Florida Keys. ![]() The grilled fish sandwich was one of the best I had anywhere in OBX. Then it was just a short walk up to their pier for an excellent lunch and a few brews. We set up our beach chairs near the waves right next to the pier so we could take advantage of the shade beneath the pier whenever we thought we had gotten enough sun. My wife and I spent 3 days of our week-long OBX vacation enjoying Fish Heads' location. ![]() There is additional seating outside the bar, some tables with umbrellas, and all with table service. Fish Heads is located on the OBX pier, set up as a covered tiki bar with three open sides facing the sand and sea. ![]()
